A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

Energy:
Adaptive Reuse

1990 – CURRENT

National Resources has long been committed to creating a sustainable future. This has been a core principle of the firm for 30 years, before the green movement took root in popular culture. National Resources' mission has taken many forms; from remediating and repurposing environmentally contaminated sites to installing geothermal heating systems; from erecting solar panels to working on sophisticated transmission projects bringing . At the heart of these projects has been our strong belief that the future will require a much more creative approach to energy and preserving the environment, and that the reuse and recycling of old buildings is the most powerful method to achieve this goal. This is best evidenced by the numerous industrial sites which National Resources has reclaimed, in turn revitalizing their surrounding environments and extending their life by transforming them into something new, innovative and beautiful.

Farm to Table:
Revitalizing Communities

2012 – CURRENT

Another key to building a sustainable future lies in the economic and agricultural process with which we as a culture grow, harvest and create our food. National Resources remains committed to celebrating local artisans who produce the finest products naturally, humanely and sustainably. The passion of these individuals for their craft mirrors that of our own, so it is only natural that National Resources invest in showcasing these extraordinary products and help to develop what we believe is the future of agriculture and cuisine.

National Resources has supported and partnered with local farmers and restaurateurs at each of its mixed use developments, in addition to several separate ventures, in an effort to further enrich local culture and revitalize communities.

Private Parks: Bringing
The Outdoors In

2004 – CURRENT

A critical component of the way we live today lies in creating a seamless connection between home and nature. National Resources' selection of waterfront sites is the first step in this active planning process, but creating private and peaceful park space for homeowners plays just as crucial a part.

A sustainable lifestyle goes far beyond green appliances and ecologically responsible building standards. Nature has a soothing effect on all of us, helping to relieve stress in our everyday lives. Simply through its presence, these parks are able to help guide us towards a healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle, oftentimes without us even knowing it. Combined with residences built from reclaimed materials and expansive sections of glass, these parks have a way of naturally entering the home, even if one never steps foot outside. Landscaped rooftops, expansive courtyards and manicured gardens are just a few of National Resources' many private parks that have been positively affecting residents on a daily basis over the last decade.
